Visit us during December to enjoy the beautiful and peaceful interior of the Cathedral, decorated with angels made by schools and local community groups.

We have a special series of Advent events.  All of our events are free and everyone is welcome. Booking may be required.

 

The Angels of St Marie’s
2nd – 28th December

A community exhibition of art work, poetry and research about the beautiful angels of St Marie’s.  With a special children’s trail.

 

Festival of Angels
Event for all the family

Saturday 2 December

As a perfect start to the festive period, visit us to discover our 200 angels both inside and outside the Cathedral. Activities include an angel trail, story telling and special angel making crafts.

 

Christmas Decorations Workshop
A festive craft workshop for adults
10.00am – 12.00pm
Wednesday 6th December

Led by an artist create you will create your own Christmas angel tree decorations, with glitter, shimmer and sparkle inspired by the Angels of St Marie’s.

Advent Organ Recital

Wednesday 6 December

Join us for a fascinating organ demonstration, including stirring Advent and Christmas music, performed by the Cathedral’s organist Mr Hugh Finnigan.

 

Angels of St Marie’s Discovery Tour

A special guided tour of the Cathedral, discovering and exploring some of the beautiful angels and the stories behind them.
