Bishop Ralph Heskett was born in Sunderland in 1953, and professed as a Member of Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in 1971.

He was ordained as a priest in 1976, and was appointed Bishop of Gibraltar by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

He was appointed by Pope Francis in 2014 to become the 3rd Bishop of Hallam.

Bishop Ralph’s Cathedra may be in St Marie’s Cathedral, but his work is very much Diocesanwide.

He lives in Bishop’s House.
