Donating

Financially Supporting the Work of St Marie’s Cathedral:

We are deeply grateful for the donations we receive from parishioners, visitors and those that feel a connection to St Marie’s – thank you!

We rely heavily on the generosity of our day-to-day visitors and parishioners, but with the Cathedral currently closed, much of our vital income has disappeared.  Your donation, no matter how small, will make a significant contribution both to the continued running of the Cathedral, and the thriving community we support.

There are many ways you can financially support St Marie’s:

1. Click here to find out how to set up a standing order

Setting up a standing order is a very good way to ensure that weekly contributions are made regularly. They are easy to set up and forms are available from [email protected] to complete and return if you would like to do this.

2. Click here to instructions to donate via online banking

If you are confident with online banking, it is possible to set up a standing order from your bank account yourself. The parish bank details, if you wish to do this, are:

  • Name of Bank Account: St Marie’s restoration Fund
  • Sort code: 40-41-07
  • Account number: 01094289

It is also possible to make a direct payment to the parish from your bank account, using your online banking platform and the above bank details. Doing this means 100% of your donation goes to the parish and the funds are immediately available.

3. Click here to donate by debit or credit card

Donations made this way can be Gift Aided. (Please note, however, there is a charge for this service; this charge will be deducted from your donation before it reaches the Parish).

4. Click here to find out how you can fundraise for the Cathedral for nothing

And finally, if you are doing more of your shopping online during this period, please consider using “Easy Fundraising”. Whatever transactions you do online—shopping, arranging insurance, etc.—using this website allows charities to receive donations from the companies you use. Sign into Easy fundraising, select “Cathedral Church of St Marie – Sheffield” as the charity, and then choose the retailer you want to buy from. The retailer will pay a percentage of the value of your shop to St Marie’s. It is really that simple and that worthwhile. 3,700 retailers are accessible through this website if you shop on line with Amazon, Argos, Debenhams, John Lewis, Not on the High Street, Dunelm, etc. St Marie’s could benefit if you shopped through the Easy Fundraising website.
