Our Clergy

Rev Fr Christopher Mark Posluszny, Cathedral Dean

Fr Chris Posluszny was born on 4th July 1960 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and was ordained as a priest in England on 11th July 1987.  He served as an Assistant Priest at St Marie’s 1990-94 and returned to take up the post of Cathedral Dean in 2008.

 

Fr Chris is also Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and St Oswald (Wybourn), and Holy Family (Arbourthorne). He is a Trustee for the Diocese of Hallam, and a Director of St Clare’s Multi-Academy Trust (of Catholic Schools).

He is also the Parish Priest of the personal, non-territorial, Parish of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, serving the Slovak community in the Diocese. The church of St Charles Borromeo (Attercliffe) is now used by this parish community.

Rev Fr Clement Abah, Assistant Priest

Fr ClementFr Clement Abah was born on 23rd November 1977 in Nigeria, and was ordained as a Priest in the Diocese of Idah, Nigeria on 17th July 2004. He holds Degrees in both Philosophy and Theology.

As well as working in various parishes in the Diocese of Idah, he has been the Diocesan Chaplain for the Mary League Association, the Precious Blood Association and the Catholic Women Organisation. He has been a Spiritual Director at a Seminary, as well as holding Director roles for Religious Education and Social Mobilisation.

Fr Clement came to the Diocese of Hallam in September 2022, and currently serves the people of St Marie’s as an Assistant Priest, ministering the Word and Sacraments. His favourite pastimes are singing, listening to good music, and playing the guitar.

Rev Mr Paul Green, Parish Deacon

Deacon PaulPaul Green was born in Buckinghamshire and brought up in Essex. He has spent most of his working life as a mental health nurse, and has also trained as a psychotherapist and nurse teacher.

Paul enjoys writing, and has been a frequent contributor to professional journals, as well as publishing fictional short stories.

Paul was ordained a Deacon in the Diocese of Hallam in July 2021. Since his ordination, he has completed a postgraduate certificate in Chaplaincy, and now also volunteers as a Mental Health Chaplain.

Mr-Matthew-HazellMr Matthew Hazell, Cathedral Office Administrator

Matthew Hazell has worked in the Cathedral office since October 2016. He has a Masters in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield.

Rober Webb

Mr Robert Webb, Cathedral Organist

Robert Webb became the Organist of St Marie’s Cathedral in May 2019.

He is also the Director of several South Yorkshire choirs, including the one at St Marie’s Cathedral, and has a busy teaching practice through the Milsom School of Music.
