Our Clergy

Rev Fr Christopher Mark Posluszny, Cathedral Dean

Fr Chris Posluszny was born in 1960 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and was ordained as a priest in England in 1987. He served as an assistant priest at St Marie’s 1990-94 and returned to take up the post of Cathedral Dean in 2008.

Fr Chris is also Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and St Oswald, Wybourn, and Holy Family, Arbourthorne. He has recently been appointed Chaplain to the Slovak community, which gathers under the patronage of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows.

Rev Fr Stephen Ssekiwunga, Assistant Priest

Fr Stephen Ssekiwunga was born in Uganda in 1979. He was ordained a Priest for the Archdiocese of Kampala, Uganda on 8th August 2009.

In Uganda, he served as an assistant Priest at St Joseph’s, Lweza, and as a hospital chaplain for four years. From 2014, he was parish Priest of Immaculate Conception, Kibanga.

In September 2018, he came to the Diocese of Hallam and became an assistant Priest at St Marie’s Cathedral.

Rev Fr Callistus Nwaobi, Assistant Priest

Fr Callistus Nwaobi was born in Ekwe, Nigeria in 1975. He was ordained as a Priest in the Diocese of Orlu, Nigeria in 2007.

He taught in the seminary and also worked as a director for the retirement home for elderly and sick clergy in the Diocese of Orlu.

He came to the Diocese of Hallam in 2019, and became an assistant Priest at St Marie’s Cathedral in February 2020.

Mr Matthew Hazell, Cathedral Office Administrator

Matthew Hazell has worked in the Cathedral office since October He has a Masters in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield.

Mr Robert Webb, Cathedral Organist

Robert Webb became the Organist of St Marie’s Cathedral in May 2019.

He is also the Director of several South Yorkshire choirs, including the one at St Marie’s Cathedral, and has a busy teaching practice through the Milsom School of Music.
